Jeff Scroggins & The Scroggdogs featuring Sally Van Meter

Here's how Jeff describes his newest project:

"I am extremely excited to announce the launching of my still shiny, brand new West Coast band, "Jeff Scroggins and the Scroggdogs!!!"

"Scroggdog" is a nickname that a lot of our bluegrass friends on the West Coast use for me, and for Tristan and Ross Scroggins as well. I wanted a name for this project that embodied my love for The West Coast, and one that would be at home at bluegrass festivals and beyond.

The band boasts an all California lineup, featuring some of the hottest pickers and singers from the Golden State, with Scott Gates (mandolin and guitar), Yoseff Tucker (guitar), Jan Purat (fiddle) and "The Wingman" Zach Sharpe (bass)

Bluegrass and more!

The music will definitely be rooted and steeped in the hard driving bluegrass tradition, but it will also feature great songs from other genres as well as a great deal of original music from the members and from some of our favourite songwirters. It will also feature a lot of my original banjo tunes, most of which have never been performed.
I began my musical career as a rock and roll guitar player, and someone once described my original music as "Earl Scruggs meets Eddie Van Halen." Through the years with JSCO there have been countless people that have told me that I should feature myself and my music more, and that is what I intend to do here. In fact, I am calling this and our first US tour, which planned for later this year, the "More Banjo Tour."
